Porsche®, originally known as Ferdinand Porsche®’s “Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche® GmbH,” began by offering motor vehicle research, development, and consulting work in 1931 in Stuttgart Germany. One of the company’s first commission projects was from the German government to design a people’s car (ie “Volkswagen”). This assignment became the Volkswagen Beetle, which is one of the most successful automotive designs of all time. Ferdinand’s son, Ferry Porsche®, couldn’t find an existing automobile that interested him, so he set off on building his own. This vehicle became the Porsche® 356. Once the 356 was due for a major re-design, Porsche® launched what is widely thought of as the most iconic sportscar design ever; the Porsche® 911.
What car-obsessed adolescent boys didn’t have posters of cherry(ie Guards) red Porsche® 911’s lining their bedroom walls? Yep, that was us. Porsche®’s were always destination vehicles, and they still are. While Matrix Integrated has always stayed current with the newest watercooled models, we haven’t forgotten nor neglected the classic and vintage aircooled Porsche®’s. These cars define such rich and important chapters in automotive history, and for good reason; they were built with robustness, performance, and superiority in mind. From what we’ve seen firsthand through our repair, maintenance, and performance-related work on these vehicles, these attributes still ring true on the newest models such as the Cayenne, Macan, Panamera, etc.
